Since I joined Be UK (in September 2019), I’ve been working in our Retail and Commercial banking segment. A lot of the projects I work on are around ensuring clients are compliant with regulations (e.g. Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) and the Resolvability Assessment Framework (RAF)).
Before the pandemic one of my projects (for a large European payments organisation) required me to travel to the clients’ office in Copenhagen for a few months. It was great to work directly with the clients’ teams, and have the opportunity to travel.
Yes, I’m fortunate enough to be able to take a sabbatical this year, so I’m travelling around South America for six months. I’m really looking forward to learning Spanish and exploring the continent. The company have been hugely supportive of my decision to take a sabbatical and it’s great to know I’ll have a job that I love waiting for me when I get back.
Entrepreneurial. Everyone’s able to get involved in a variety of projects (both internal and external) and the partners are always open to discussing new ideas.
Collegiate. We work together in a collaborative way and we have a friendly culture where everyone’s always willing to help out.
I was previously working for a larger organisation where at times I felt like just another employee. I wanted to join a smaller company where I would have the freedom and responsibility to help drive my career but also key initiatives forward.
It’s a great place to grow as a consultant – particularly if you’re proactive and a self-starter. If you’re someone who wants to get stuck in and help to develop internal teams, communities and initiatives, such as sports teams, wellbeing, etc., then it’s the company for you!
I’m an avid runner… I ran my first ever marathon in 2021.
