I joined in April 2021.
Starting any new job is tough, but joining during a pandemic when you’re working from home five days a week and not being able to meet people face-to-face is really hard. But at Be UK, you are made to feel part of the family from day one. On my first day I had a variety of introductory meetings with partners, my buddy and my coach, which really helped the onboarding process and helped me to start building colleague relationships right from day one.
I work in our Finance segment and have been involved in a cryptocurrency project. I’ve really enjoyed this project so far, particularly as it’s a (relatively) new industry and a new market which has its challenges as it’s dynamic and constantly changing, but hugely exciting to be able to explore the potential that cryptocurrency has.
The company has been really supportive and have enabled me to use my annual learning credits as study leave for my MBA, which I’m incredibly grateful for. I was also able to use my learning credits for the International Consulting Week last year, which was a great opportunity to expand my consulting skillsets while expanding my network.
Collaborative. Open. Family.
We are always looking for ways to collaborate with our colleagues and truly believe that this is key to our success.
We have an open door policy that is strongly encouraged by the partners and the CEO. Our senior management team are also really open and transparent about their decisions, thought processes and communication.
The company is also really family orientated and there’s a unique family vibe, where everyone genuinely cares and supports each other.
I’ve always worked for big corporations, but I wanted to be a part of a company where I could genuinely make a difference; where I could be part of a growing business and have the freedom and support to help drive the company forward and help drive growth – and that’s certainly what I’ve found at Be UK.
If you want to be able to get out of your comfort zone, have a larger impact, have a real learning experience from experts in the industry, then Be UK is the place for you!
I’ve got a few for you…
Believe it or not, I brew my own beer. And one of my goals for this year is I want to start making my own biltong (a great accompaniment for the beer!).
When I was younger, I always wanted to be a professional footballer – used to play for South African Juniors but sadly injured myself and that was the end of my sporting ambitions!
